More than 1,000 guests: business leaders, representatives of national and global administrations, experts, academics, and major opinion-leading media are attending the event which features speeches and discussions regarding the building of strong and sustainable businesses in the face of geopolitical, economic, and social changes.

Marcin Krupa, the mayor of Katowice emphasized in the event’s opening speech, that: organizing such international events wouldn't be possible without transformation. Thanks to a good development strategy we were able to build urban, cultural, and business zones. We are proud to be a part of the ABSL Summit that is focused on the challenges of tomorrow.

During the press meeting that introduced the latest ABSL report, Business Services Sector in Poland 2022, Bogumił Sobula, the Deputy Mayor of Katowice, said that: competition is intensifying between cities to attract not only investment but also employees who wish to relocate. The attractiveness of cities plays a key role in the development of the sector. In Katowice, we have been consistently implementing the policy of improving the quality of life - from ensuring clean air for our residents to smart city solutions. All these activities are being undertaken with our citizens in mind who want to be an integral part of our city and our community.

The Deputy Mayor also underlined the importance of not only the number of jobs but the quality and value of the services provided. Increasing competition between mature and emerging business locations was also mentioned. Such competition, however, is a reflection on the growth of the Polish economy as a whole and a confirmation of  the country’s continued investment attractiveness.
